It doesn’t even look like a cooling harness, which is exactly why I love it.
The quality was the first thing I noticed. It feels like a premium product from the moment you open the box.
We’ve tried a few cooling products before, but this is the first one my dog actually seemed comfortable wearing.
Cold, precisely placed.
Some dogs feel the heat sooner than others. Flat faced breeds like French Bulldogs and Pugs can be especially sensitive, panting harder or slowing down on warm days. The Signature was built with them in mind.
One gel pack sits over the chest and two more run along the sides near the armpits for balanced cooling coverage. Nothing to soak, nothing to drip, unlike water based vests that only work while wet.
Freeze
Freeze the cooling gel packs for at least one hour.

What owners ask us.
Do cooling dog harnesses actually work?
Yes. Three removable cooling gel packs provide targeted cooling near your dog's natural cooling zones. Unlike water-based cooling products, the harness stays dry and doesn't rely on evaporation, making it especially well suited for warm, humid climates.
Is the cold safe against my dog's skin?
Yes. The cooling gel packs never come into direct contact with your dog's skin. They sit securely inside insulated pockets with a layer of fabric between the gel packs and your dog, providing gentle, comfortable cooling rather than an intense cold sensation.
Are cooling harnesses safe for flat-faced breeds like French Bulldogs and Pugs?
Yes. Bark & Tonic was inspired by the unique needs of flat-faced breeds like French Bulldogs and Pugs. Because these breeds can be more sensitive to warm weather, we set out to create a comfortable everyday harness with reusable cooling gel packs to help keep them comfortable during outdoor adventures.
How long do the cooling gel packs stay cold?
Designed to stay cool throughout your daily walks. Cooling duration will vary depending on weather conditions, activity level, and direct sunlight.
How long should I freeze the cooling gel packs?
Freeze the cooling gel packs for at least one hour before use for optimal cooling performance.
Is a cooling harness or a cooling vest better?
Unlike a traditional cooling vest, Bark & Tonic combines a premium harness with optional built-in cooling. Simply insert the cooling gel packs when the weather calls for it, or remove them and continue using it as your dog's harness.
Do I need to soak the harness in water?
No. Unlike many cooling products, Bark & Tonic uses removable cooling gel packs, so there's no soaking, dripping, or waiting for the harness to dry.
Can I buy replacement cooling gel packs?
Yes. Replacement cooling gel packs will be available separately, so you can keep an extra set in the freezer or replace them over time as needed.
How do I measure my dog for the right size?
Measure the widest part of your dog's chest, just behind the front legs, and the base of the neck. Refer to our size guide and measurement diagram to find the best fit. If your dog falls between two sizes, we recommend sizing up.
